* The user of a computer running Windows 10 and Windows 8 can show hidden files by doing the following steps:

 1- Clicking the Windows button and the E key, to open a new window on your computer.  Click on the View menu on the left side of the top of the screen.  Choose the Options option shown on the right side of the open window.  Click on the View button under the folder options, and then choose Advanced settings.

 2- Select the option Show hidden files, folders and drives under the list of hidden files options, referred to as Hidden files and folders.  Clicking Apply button to apply Show hidden files and then clicking OK button.

 Hidden files can be shown on your Windows 7 computer by following the following steps:

 * Clicking on the Start button, or what is known as the Start button.  Go to the control panel menu on your computer by clicking on the Control Panel option.  Choose the Appearance and Personalization option appearing under the Control Panel options.  Clicking on Folder Options and then choosing the "View" menu.

 * Select the Show hidden files, folders, and drives option listed under the Advanced settings box.  Clicking the OK button to agree to show hidden files in Windows 7. How to show hidden files in Windows XP You can show hidden files on a Windows XP computer by doing the following:

 * Open the My Computer window that appears in the options of the Start button, or what is known as the start button.  Clicking on the Tools menu, then choosing the Folder Options option, and then clicking on the View option.  Select the Show hidden files and folders option under the Hidden files and folders menu, where this list is listed under Advanced settings.  Complete the last steps for showing files in Windows XP by clicking the OK button.
