Gynecomastia treatment
* The condition of gynecomastia does not cause concern, as it disappears in adolescents without resorting to various treatments, but ice compresses and pain medication such as ibuprofen can be used during this period and until the disappearance of gynecomastia.
* We mention some of the following methods of treatment if this condition persists:
In fact, there are no adequate studies to prove the effectiveness of using pharmacological treatments to treat gynecomastia, which indicates a lack of information about their effectiveness, and it is worth noting that the US Food and Drug Administration has not approved any drug treatment for gynecomastia, and we mention in the following some of the types of drugs used To treat gynecomastia:
Testosterone replacement therapy: This drug has proven effective for older men who suffer from low testosterone levels. Selective estrogen receptor modulators: These drugs cannot completely cure the problem, but they can reduce the amount of breast tissue, and they are used more in cases of severe gynecomastia, or in cases that are accompanied by severe pain, examples of which are the following:
Tamoxifen (English: Tamoxifen). Raloxifene (English: Raloxifene). Surgical treatment: Surgery is performed to permanently solve the problem of gynecomastia and restore the natural breast shape, and this is done through liposuction (liposuction) accumulated under the skin, or by making a small incision in the chest area to remove excess tissue in the breast, making the breast size smaller. The surgeon may also change the location of the nipple or the areola of the breast, and it should be noted that gynecomastia may occur again in the event that a healthy weight is not maintained, or steroids are used, or drugs that affect the level of testosterone.
Prevention of gynecomastia:
Gynecomastia can be prevented by naturally increasing the level of testosterone, and this can be done by following the following:
Do high-intensity exercise and resistance training. Eat healthy fats high in cholesterol that contribute to testosterone production. Determine the amount of sugar consumption, as the hormone insulin affects the production of testosterone. Ensure that you are getting enough magnesium and zinc. Excessive weight loss, as visceral fat affects the production of testosterone.
* Ensure that the adequate requirements are taken from the saturated chain amino acid (Branched-chain amino acid), by eating foods rich in whey protein. Avoid chronic stress that leads to hypercortisolemia, which interferes with the production of the hormone testosterone.
