Three Arab countries announce the emergence of the new Corona strain

 The new strain of the mutated Corona virus appeared in a number of Arab countries, after three Arab countries announced the registration of new infections with the mutated virus, and the Jordanian Minister of Health, Nazir Obeidat, said that two cases had been discovered for those infected with the mutated Corona virus in Jordan, according to the official news agency (Petra).

 The Jordanian minister explained that the two cases were registered for a couple who returned on December 19 from Britain, indicating that their health is "excellent."

 Obeidat said that health isolation procedures were applied to both cases, and they were followed up by investigation teams according to the protocols, adding: "They are not allowed to mix with others until the home isolation period ends."

 Jordan is the third Arab country to announce cases of the mutated virus.

 And last Friday, the health authorities in Lebanon announced the registration of the first case of the new strain of the emerging corona virus.

 The Lebanese Minister of Health in the caretaker government, Hamad Hassan, wrote on his personal page on "Twitter": "A case of the new surge of Covid-19 was recorded on the ME 202 flight coming from London on December 21st."

 Hassan added, "We go to the expatriates from the United Kingdom, especially on board the aforementioned flight, and their families, to be alert and adhere to the preventive instructions, and the ministry follows up the case and those in contact."

 And last Tuesday, the Omani Minister of Health, Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Saeedi, revealed an ongoing study in his country to confirm the presence of 4 cases that may be infected with the new strain coming from Britain.

 Al-Saeedi added, in statements reported by the official Oman News Agency, that the study of the genetic map of the virus is continuing and will be announced.

 According to preliminary estimates, the prevalence rate of the new strain may be 70 percent higher, as it turns out to be more dangerous in terms of death or hospitalization.
