The virtual world and its disadvantages

A virtual world:

Known in English as (Virtual Reality), it is a non-realistic environment that contains components very close to reality, also known as: a group of moving images consisting of graphics containing dimensions, shades, colors and shapes such as those closest to reality.  life and rely entirely on the computer for its design, production, and preparation.  The virtual world is one of the ideas close to imagination, because it contributes to transforming imagination or intellectual hypotheses into realistic and real things. The idea of designing a virtual world appeared at the beginning of the development of modern technologies in the computer world, in the last quarter of the twentieth century.

    * Especially in the field of electronic games that depended on the design of player shapes and scenes of internal games, computer programmers and digital game designers sought to find new ideas in the world of computer virtualization and this contributed to transforming the virtual world into the real world.

The effect of virtual technology on reality:

Virtual technology is defined as: a set of procedures and tools that connect computer users to the virtual world.  A set of interconnected visual scenes are shown to make the human brain feel as if it has already moved into the virtual world and become a part of it.  A group of modern technology companies has designed a 3D digital layout that helps to transfer a computer or user with a smart screen to the application they are using until it becomes completely real,

    * This is evident in today's digital electronic games, which are based on the concept of turning the game into something very close to reality.  Virtual technology is not only used in computer applications and digital games, but is also used in photography, place design, and even representational roles using 3D, and psychiatrists have relied on the virtual world to treat some mental illnesses, such as: related to fear or anxiety, and examples of this: Fear of  Dark places, fear of heights.

    Disadvantages of the virtual world:

    * There are some disadvantages related to the virtual world and they are as follows: It is considered a high financial cost for the designers of virtual applications, which is reflected in computer users who have to pay high financial costs for the technological tools of the virtual world.  It needs its own equipment and devices to function properly.  A computer user may need training in the use of their electronic devices.

The role of the virtual world in education:

    * The virtual world has contributed to the availability of many modern teaching methods, the most important of which is the provision of distance learning, which is defined as: the presence of a group of people communicating with each other, relying on the Internet as a means of education, based on the prior arrangement of the date and place of the lecture in which the material will be presented  educational, so the virtual world is considered a contribution to providing digital learning tools that make students and teachers exchange dialogue and discussions as if it were a place.

    default education:

    * The term virtual learning refers to a specialized system for transferring knowledge to the student, providing means of communication and obtaining information via the Internet. It is one of the modern systems that is based on a series of advanced educational tools and is characterized by the ability to add value to traditional education through CDs, the Internet and electronic means.

    Definition of virtual learning:

    * Virtual learning can be defined as interrelated processes aimed at imparting knowledge and science to students in different parts of the world, based on information technologies such as the Internet, teleconferencing and CDs, and this method is enjoying tremendous growth.  The Internet, especially in aspects related to direct communication and multimedia technologies.

Reasons for the emergence of virtual learning:

    * Educating individuals about the importance of education and commitment to education until a certain age, as is the case in most countries of the world.  The constant need for learning and training in all aspects of life.  High material cost for the construction of educational buildings and buildings.  Failure to meet service and admission requirements, especially in light of classrooms being overcrowded and closed, with a relative gap in the number of teachers.  Efforts to reduce the value of other indirect costs, such as book prices, travel expenses and expenses.  Include as many people as possible in the student circle.

    Disadvantages of virtual learning:

Attention to secondary issues that appear on websites such as chats and advertisements which weaken interaction between academics and students.  The urgent need for basic infrastructure that developing countries cannot afford.  Pragmatic aspects of education are needed, because this pedagogical method lacks human elements.  The inability to convey impressions using instant text supports the ability to enter virtual classrooms by so-called hackers in the absence of strong protection systems.  Students tend to be alone and isolated and have a low level of communication with others.  Boredom and decreased desire to learn as a result of sitting in front of the computer for long periods of time. Lack of the student's creative and creative skills due to the limitations imposed on his response.

    Advantages of virtual education:

Facilitate the practical journey and ensure that it is not complicated by providing easy services for students, whether for admission and registration, financial payments or contacting academic support.  Virtual learning develops ways to facilitate and engage people in interactions and conversations.  that attracts scholars.  The ability to easily access the educational resource at any time and place, which is considered one of the biggest advantages of this method, as it provides the student with appropriate planning, permanent employment and continuous development throughout the study period.  Openness of students with a broad horizon in choosing scientific disciplines, which provides dynamism and continuity for the educational body in line with the requirements of the labor market.

Disadvantages of glasses for the virtual world

Negative effects on the brain, scientists at the University of California found in a study on mice.  The behavior of neurons in the brain region associated with learning localization in virtual environments differs from that in a real environment where more than half of neurons are limited in virtual reality, noting that their effect on humans is not clear, which leads us to consider the need for further research  ;  Because she believes that it can have a greater impact on the human brain, especially children, children's brains are in a steady and very sensitive development state at a young age, prolonged exposure to inappropriate devices such as virtual reality glasses can deteriorate.

    Adverse effect on the eyes:

Most VR glasses have two small LCD screens, each displayed in one eye, to create the impression of stereoscopic vision, giving users an illusion of screen depth.  These screens are installed close to the eyes, so experts were concerned that they could cause eye strain.  Due to its prolonged use with children, it can harm their visual development, and prolonged exposure to a virtual environment can affect their ability to focus, track and perceive the depth of objects.

    * Nausea and weakness Many people experience nausea, instability and confusion at times.  Because of the use of virtual reality glasses, the reason is that there are two sensitive organs, the eye and the vestibular system in the ear (vestibular), which are responsible for recording events and informing the brain that the body is in a state of stability or movement, and then the brain sends a signal to other internal parts of your body to adjust your balance  When using virtual reality glasses to simulate a car accident, for example;  The eye sees through the occasional glasses and sends a signal to the brain, but the atrium does not send anything, the brain becomes confused, causing nausea due to the mixed response of the brain to the body.   With age, their neuroplasticity decreases, causing dizziness.

Disconnecting from the real world Some VR glasses wearers may find that they still feel like they are in the virtual world and perceive the 3D world around them when the eyes are closed and removing the glasses can cause a feeling of sadness that can be described.  is a lower degree of depression closer to feeling disconnected from reality, users tend to use their hands in real life as they used in virtual reality on consoles, then return to normal within minutes or hours, sometimes the effect can be from days to weeks,  Rarely for new users or those who use it for a long time
